Orange, a part of France Telecom, has set its focus on providing content to its subscribers via multi-platform distribution. Through the combination of providing triple play (tv, internet, and telephone), multi-platform (being able to view a program on television, internet, or mobile platforms), and offering a similar service such as Comcast’s Fancast Xfinity, Orange has set the stage for their subscribers to interact with both new and popular content that takes full advantage of the latest technologies available on the market.
The only word for this is revolutionary. This is where all of the current broadcasters in the United States are trying to do now to some capacity. Their service offers everything, they have every element covered- from triple play, to the tv everywhere concept, and true multi-platform viewing. What impressed me the most was that they have a feature called sideload. What that means is that if a person is watching a program on their television, and has to leave, but wants to continue watching that program on their mobile device from where they stopped viewing it, they can. That is true multi-platform viewing and is definitely the wave of the future.
